Manchester United look like they could be one of the January transfer window’s busiest clubs.

There is two weeks left before the mid-season window closes and United’s owners still have several pieces of business to conclude.

Alejandro Garnacho is linked with Napoli and Chelsea while Antony looks likely to join Real Betis on loan.

It’s another Man United first-team star’s Old Trafford future that is sparking the most debate though.

Worry for Marcus Rashford amid uncertainty

Marcus Rashford has been told he’s available for transfer so long as a suitable offer is made.

Although several clubs have been linked with a move, including AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, Rashford would prefer a move to Barcelona.

An agreement has yet to be reached with any club though, and this is adding to the forward’s uncertainty.

Speaking about what will happen before the close of the window, ESPN pundit Don Hutchinson isn’t sure United’s number 10 will leave and suggested Ruben Amorim may need to bring him back into the fold.

“I just don’t know where he goes because the three club that might be favourites for him of all got players who play in that position,” he said.

“Maybe Amorim has to put an arm around him behind the scenes and maybe try and get him back on board because at the moment he’s in no man’s land and that’s a worry for the player.”

Until we see some movement in the market for Rashford, it’s tough to disagree with Hutchinson.

Rashford situation could test Ruben Amorim’s man-management

Although it is really hard to see a way back in for Rashford, its even harder to imagine United freezing out one of the country’s best paid players.

Rashford earns £375,000-a-week (Capology) and would become the side’s highest earner if and when Casemiro moves on.

Even though Sir Jim Ratcliffe is trying to trim Manchester United’s wage bill, he can’t do it overnight.

Knowing this, surely he wouldn’t allow the club to use up such a large chunk of their budget on a player who isn’t playing.

Therefore, failure to get Rashford out, even if it is just on loan for the rest of the season, could leave Amorim with no choice but to reinstate him.

And that scenario, if it were to become reality, is one that would really put the United manager’s skills to the test.
