Barcelona manager Hansi Flick dropped a telling verdict on Marcus Rashford after the Manchester United and England player’s stunning impact against Daegu FC on Monday.

Marcus Rashford signed for Barcelona this summer and the Manchester United talent has already been fighting for his place in the first-team squad under Hansi Flick.

The 27-year-old United youth academy product signed on a 12-month loan deal and Rashford made his Barcelona debut against Vissel Kobe in a 3-1 win in July.

Following Rashford’s Barcelona cameo in the pre-season friendly against J1 League outfit Vissel Kobe, the United loanee picked up further minutes for his new club.

Flick turned to the former Aston Villa star again and Rashford played the entire second half for Barcelona in the 7-3 win over K League 1 side FC Seoul last month.

Rashford picked up his first Barcelona assist during his cameo against FC Seoul and the United forward built further momentum with his most recent performance.

Hansi Flick makes his feelings clear on Man Utd loanee Marcus Rashford after Barcelona’s win over Daegu FC

Barcelona returned to pre-season action and the La Liga champions sealed a thumping 5-0 victory over K League 1 outfit Daegu FC in their friendly match.

Marcus Rashford was on the bench against Daegu FC and Barcelona manager Hansi Flick brought the England international on in the second half of the contest.

The Three Lions star replaced Robert Lewandowski at the break and Rashford made a major impact for Barcelona after he scored in the 65th minute against Daegu FC.

Following the 5-0 scoreline at the Daegu Stadium in South Korea, Flick admitted that he sees two different roles for Rashford going into the 2025-26 La Liga campaign.

“I’m happy with the facilities in Seoul and the opponents. They were good tests for us,” he said, as per Mundo Deportivo.

“Rashford can play as a No 9 [like Lewandowski], and as a No 11 [like Raphinha].

“We put him [Rashford] in the centre today because Ferran Torres was injured.”

Marcus Rashford is having his opportunity to shine at Barcelona after his Man Utd transfer exit this summer

Rashford was only back at Old Trafford for a short period of time this summer after the boyhood United supporter’s loan spell with Aston Villa expired in June.

The Barcelona summer signing had been training alone at the Carrington complex after he was frozen out of the United first-team squad under Ruben Amorim.

However, Rashford was able to end his exodus at the Premier League club and the Three Lions international completed a dream move to the Camp Nou this summer.

The England forward has everything to prove at Barcelona and an impactful spell at the Spanish champions could lead to a permanent transfer to the club in 2026.
