Paul Scholes singles out six former Man Utd teammates for building ultimate player, only one legend is picked twice

Former England midfielder Paul Scholes dropped incredible praise on one fellow Manchester United legend after he was tasked with creating his dream footballer.

Paul Scholes is one of the best midfielders of all time and the Manchester United legend is widely regarded as one of the best Premier League players ever.

The 50-year-old former England international spent his entire legendary club playing career at Old Trafford across two separate spells at United.

Scholes rose through the ranks of the United youth academy and the former United star made a real impact under iconic former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

One of United’s famed ‘Class of ‘92’ stars, Scholes made a whopping 716 appearances for United and he scored 155 times and picked up 82 assists.

During his prolific career at Old Trafford, the United legend lifted 11 Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues, three FA Cups and two League Cups with the club.

Scholes initially called it time on his remarkable career as a player in 2011 before he made a U-turn and returned in 2012 for Sir Alex Ferguson’s men.

The former Red Devils midfielder was part of the last United team to lift the Premier League title in the 2012-13 campaign before he retired for the final time.

Paul Scholes names five former Man Utd players for five areas of his dream footballer

Paul Scholes shared the pitch with a star-studded roster of talented players during his time under legendary former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Scholes picked fellow Class of ’92 breakout stars David Beckham and Ryan Giggs for the dream player’s right foot and left foot respectively.

The former Three Lions star added that United legend Jaap Stam, who is one of the best Premier League defenders of all time, was on his list for the heading attribute.

Scholes revealed that Eric Cantona would be his top pick for football flair before former United striker Dimitar Berbatov was selected for his ultimate player’s IQ.

The United legend had to choose in seven categories for his dream footballer and two spots were reserved for an iconic former Red Devils teammate.

Roy Keane had a legendary playing career at United and played alongside Scholes in a key midfield partnership for Ferguson during his 26-year reign at Old Trafford.

Scholes didn’t think twice about naming the 53-year-old legendary former United captain as the only pick for his dream player’s football leadership trait.

The TNT Sports pundit had to sign off his ultimate footballer with one player that best fitted its heart and Scholes once again settled for Roy Keane with his pick.

Keane, who retired from football in 2006, is regarded as one of the best midfielders in Premier League history and one of the best captains of all time.
