Man Utd legends Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt are on the same wavelength about Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson
Elliot Anderson is under contract with Nottingham Forest until 2029 and the 23-year-old midfielder is tipped to leave the Premier League club in the summer window.
Manchester United have shown an interest in Anderson during the course of the 2025-26 campaign, while Manchester City have also been linked with the England star.
Anderson has impressed during his time at City Ground and Nottingham Forest have slapped a price tag of over £100m on the Three Lions ace to fend off rival interest.
Speaking on a clip for The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast’s social media channels, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt were asked about ‘future’ United signings.
The two United legends were on the same wavelength over Anderson and responded with a “yes” over the Red Devils signing the Forest midfielder.

Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt sent a clear-cut message to Man Utd over Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba
United were linked with Carlos Baleba last summer and the Red Devils had shown an interest in bringing the 22-year-old Cameroonian midfielder to Old Trafford.
However, Baleba had been valued at over £100m in 2025 and the Red Devils’ immediate desire to sign the Cameroon international cooled down.
Baleba, who is under contract with Brighton until 2028, has been with the Seagulls since 2023 after the Man Utd-linked player was signed from French side Lille.
Unlike Anderson, Scholes and Butt both responded with a resounding “no” over whether United should rekindle their transfer interest in Brighton’s Baleba.
