Paul Scholes and Gary Neville did not see eye to eye with fellow Manchester United legend Roy Keane over the Premier League outcome for the Sunderland match.

Michael Carrick’s men will hit the road and Manchester United will visit the Stadium of Light for their upcoming Premier League encounter with Sunderland on Saturday.

The Red Devils have already ensured their place in the Champions League for next season after Man Utd beat Liverpool 3-2 in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

Michael Carrick’s side are third in the Premier League table and the Red Devils are now six points clear of fourth-place Liverpool and fifth-place Aston Villa.

Paul Scholes and Gary Neville drop their Premier League scoreline prediction for the Sunderland vs Man Utd match

The Sunderland match this weekend will be one of the three final Premier League matches that Michael Carrick will oversee as interim head coach this season.

Sunderland are 12th in the Premier League table and the Black Cats have won only two of their last five league matches ahead of hosting the Red Devils on Saturday.

Manchester United, on the other hand, have picked up three consecutive Premier League wins under Carrick amid their pursuit of a top-four finish this season.

Speaking on The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast, Gary Neville suggested to Paul Scholes that United could “dip” in form and be held to a draw against Sunderland.

“I think a draw,” he said.

“I think United might just dip off a little bit. I’ll go a draw, 1-1.”

Roy Keane and Ian Wright feel differently about the Premier League match between Man Utd and Sunderland

Roy Keane mocked fellow United legend Neville over the Red Devils ‘dipping’ in form ahead of Ian Wright throwing his weight behind a Red Devils win on Saturday.

“We’re going [with] United,” Ian Wright said.

“I’m going to go [with] United.”

The Arsenal legend added: “Yeah, I can see them scoring. Yeah. 3-1 United.”

Keane pushed back on the 3-1 prediction that Wright made before the pair settled on United beating Sunderland 2-1 at the Stadium of Light this weekend.

“I don’t know about three,” he said.

Responding to Keane, Wright added: “Wait. I was going to say 2-1.”

United and Sunderland’s Premier League encounter at the Stadium of Light is slated for a 3pm kick-off time in the UK on Saturday afternoon.
