Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane has revealed his ideal pick for the vacant Manchester United head coach role ahead of interim manager Michael Carrick.
Michael Carrick has now been tipped as one of the frontrunners to land the Manchester United manager role on a permanent basis this summer.
The Red Devils have been linked with several different names in the hunt for their next manager, including Andoni Iraola, Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann.
United have been without a permanent head coach since January after Ineos appointed Carrick as interim boss following Ruben Amorim’s sacking.

Michael Carrick has now beaten Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Villa, and Chelsea – Do you want him to be the permanent manager?
What did he get right (and wrong) vs Liverpool?
Roy Keane wants Luis Enrique at Old Trafford over Michael Carrick for the Man Utd head coach role
Luis Enrique, who is considered one of the best managers in the world, has been widely hailed for his transformative work at Paris Saint-Germain since 2023.
The Spaniard led Paris Saint-Germain to a continental treble last season and PSG have reached the Champions League final once again in the current campaign.
Enrique’s current contract with PSG runs until 2027, but the Ligue 1 outfit are in talks with the former Barcelona and Spain manager over a new deal at the club.
Speaking on The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast, Roy Keane has been impressed with Enrique’s impact as a manager at both club level and on the international stage.
“But we go back to it,” he said.
“Any business or industry, do we think there’s better options? On paper, there is. But that doesn’t mean to say there is.
“I like Enrique. Of course, I like Enrique for what he’s done. He’s got that experience at an international level. He seems like a good character.”

What Roy Keane really likes about PSG manager Luis Enrique amid the Man Utd managerial links
Enrique’s dominant PSG side will defend their Champions League crown against Premier League side Arsenal on 30th May at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary.
PSG are also leading the Ligue 1 title race under Enrique this season, with the French side six points clear with only three league matches remaining.
United legend Keane admitted that he is a big fan of how Enrique’s teams have played under him and thinks he would be the perfect appointment at the Red Devils.
“His team, he gets his teams to run,” he added.
“And any manager who gets his players, top players, to run, I’ll tell you, that’s a big thumbs up. But again, people don’t look at Man United anymore.
“He’s probably thinking, ‘I’ll won’t go to Man United with all your issues and I want to win the big prizes every year.’”
Michael Carrick has three Premier League matches left to oversee in his interim head coach reign before the end of the 2025-26 campaign at Old Trafford.
