Manchester United right-back Noussair Mazraoui has been selected in Morocco’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

The Premier League season is over, with Manchester United finishing third, meaning the Red Devils will be competing in the Champions League next season.

That brings excitement to the dressing room, but first, many of United’s first team players have the 2026 World Cup to focus on.

Some United players have already been called up, with a place secured for the World Cup, including Kobbie Mainoo (England) and Senne Lammens (Belgium). With 15 days left until the tournament kicks off, there are still some players waiting on their call-ups.

Noussair Mazraoui included in Morocco squad for World Cup

Playing at a World Cup is an honour for most footballers.

Harry Maguire was disappointed with his England snub, as Luke Shaw joined him on the list of omissions.

Fortunately for United right-back Noussair Mazraoui, who didn’t have a good season by his standards, he has made the Morocco squad for the World Cup finals, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Mazraoui is part of a squad named by national team coach Mohamed Wahbi that includes Achraf Hakimi, Sofyan Amrabat and Brahim Diaz.

Mazraoui is one of the star players in the Morocco squad, but he made just 20 appearances for United in the Premier League this season.

Michael Carrick preferred Diogo Dalot at right-back, but Mazraoui started in United’s 3-0 win over Brighton at the end of the season.

Noussair Mazraoui’s World Cup history

Mazraoui featured at the previous World Cup for Morocco.

In 2018, Mazraoui missed out on a place in the squad that travelled to Russia, but he made his senior international debut later that year.

Mazraoui made five appearances at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar before missing the semi-final defeat to France.

At 28, Mazraoui will be hoping to improve on his performances four years ago to help Morocco reach the latter rounds again.
