Andrey Santos has now singled out Matheus Cunha alongside six other key first-team Manchester United players after arriving at Old Trafford from Chelsea.
The 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder has crossed paths with Matheus Cunha for Brazil, but he missed out on playing at the World Cup this summer.
Andrey Santos formally completed his move to Manchester United on Monday after being linked with an exit from Premier League side Chelsea last week.
Man Utd have paid an initial £48m transfer fee for the Brazil international, as well as £2m in add-on clauses and a 10 per cent sell-on fee being included in the transfer.

“I know Bruno [Fernandes], I swapped shirts with Bruno in the last game at Old Trafford, so I’m excited to play with these guys,” he told MUTV, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“I can learn a lot too from Bruno, so I’m so excited to play with my team-mates, with Bruno, with Matheus, with Kobbie [Mainoo], with Amad [Diallo], with Diogo [Dalot], with Harry [Maguire], so with everyone.”

Santos explained that he had become familiar with Cunha after their brief time with Brazil, but he also shares history with Mason Mount, who left Chelsea for Man Utd.
“I know Matheus Cunha very well, we’ve played together [in the] national team, I know Mason [Mount] as well because I remember [at] the last game [between United and Chelsea] we spoke,” he said.
Santos made 43 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea last season and the Brazil international netted three times and registered four assists for the Blues.
The Brazil midfielder, who has spent time on loan at Nottingham Forest and Strasbourg, first arrived at Chelsea in 2023 from Brazilian side Vasco da Gama.
