Manchester United signing Andrey Santos has shared a comical interaction with Harry Maguire after finalising his deal.
Andrey Santos completed his £48 million transfer from Chelsea to Manchester United on Monday, making him the first signing of the 2026 summer transfer window.
The Brazilian midfielder signed a five-year contract with an option to extend for a further year.
Santos spoke highly of Michael Carrick on his unveiling, as well as club captain Bruno Fernandes. But it seems he is already building a relationship with Harry Maguire, too.

Harry Maguire jokes as Andrey Santos joins Manchester United
Maguire was at Carrington to welcome Santos to the squad because he was left out of England’s World Cup squad.
Santos completed his move on Monday, and some reports claim he was involved with Carrick’s training session at Carrington on his first day.
When the move was announced, Maguire was quick to welcome Santos to the club on Instagram.
He wrote: “Welcome mate. No more fighting now”, with an accompanying photo of Maguire and Santos dueling on the pitch during his time at Chelsea.
Santos replied and agreed with Maguire: “Thanks, no more fighting”.

Santos has only faced United once in his career, in a Premier League draw, and he lined up against Maguire on the day.
But now, the two are preparing to play alongside each other, and both could start for the Red Devils this weekend.

United start their 2026 pre-season fixtures with a match against Championship side Wrexham this Saturday.
It is a chance for Santos to make his debut for United, while Maguire could play to start his preparation for the 2026/27 season.
