Nicky Butt has dropped his two cents on Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim after the Portuguese manager arrived at Old Trafford from Sporting CP.
Manchester United agreed to bring Ruben Amorim to the Premier League club last month after triggering a £9.25m release clause in his Sporting CP contract.
Amorim left Sporting CP and the 39-year-old Portuguese head coach made his presence felt at the Red Devils during the start of the November international break.
The United manager replaced Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout after the former Ajax boss was axed by the Premier League club in late October.
Ruud van Nistelrooy had taken charge of the Red Devils on an interim basis after Erik ten Hag’s sacking and led United for four matches before Amorim arrived.
Amorim inked a deal until June 2027 with United and the former Sporting CP boss has had a mixed start to his time at Old Trafford so far.

Butt’s warning to Man Utd fans over Amorim
Ruben Amorim has won two of his first four matches in charge of Manchester United, with the Portuguese manager suffering one defeat so far.
United played out a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town under Amorim last month before the Red Devils came from behind to beat Bodo/Glimt 3-2 in the Europa League.
Amorim’s men delivered a convincing performance last weekend with a 4-0 Premier League demolition of Everton at Old Trafford.
However, Amorim oversaw his first United defeat on Wednesday evening after Arsenal inflicted a 2-0 defeat on the Red Devils at the Emirates.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Nicky Butt has suggested that there will be “some pain coming” under Amorim before things begin to change at United.
“There’s going to be a lot of pain,” he said.
“There’s going to be some pain coming, it’ll continue to come because he has to go and look at the players and he’s got to play them.
“So, everyone will be going, ‘He’s not done anything for the last three seasons, why are you giving him a game?’
“Because this new guy’s got to go in, he’s got to give the lads a chance, he’s got to see what he’s got.”
Butt’s predication for Amorim at Man Utd
United are now 13th in the Premier League table and the Red Devils are seven points adrift from the top four amid their pursuit of Champions League football.
Butt has predicted that it could take United at least “four transfer windows” before the Red Devils mount a Premier League title challenge under Amorim.
“And then he can go to the board and say, ‘I don’t want that player, pay his contracts up, pay his contracts up, get that player for me, get that player for me’ and he can start building his own,” he added.
“And it’s going to be two seasons, it’s going to be two years.
“It’s going to be four transfer windows until we get where we need to be and challenging [at] the top of the table.”
