Nemanja Matic played all 90 minutes in Manchester United’s Europa League victory over Astana.
It was a proud occasion for the Serbian international, who was selected as United captain for the first ever time.
After the game Matic, popped up on Twitter, sending his first ever message. He was keen to share his joy at captaining the club.
Matic had an account with more than 50,000 followers, but had never actually sent any tweets before this one.

What about on the pitch?
Matic helped United keep possession well in the victory over Astana, managing 132 touches in total, and completing 92 per cent of his passes.
He had a solid game, with his only faults coming a couple of times in the first half when he tried to venture into the final third, and the attack broke down.
This was a rare game where Matic did not make any tackles, but this was more to do with the fact that he wasn’t needed to, with Astana rarely posing any serious threat.
After this 1-0 win, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a decision to make whether to keep Matic in the side to face West Ham this weekend.
The £40 million midfielder is more of a squad player nowadays, but he could be useful to deal with the central attacking threat posed by Manuel Lanzini and Felipe Anderson.
They will certainly give United more of a test than Astana did.
