Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford came off against Real Betis with a suspected injury – but there may be no reason to panic.
Injuries were a nightmare for Manchester United in 2023/24, and this season has begun in the same way.
Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund’s injuries cost them time on the sidelines after picking up problems against Arsenal.
Then in the match against Real Betis, Marcus Rashford fell victim to a poor challenge and hobbled off the pitch in the second half.

Don’t panic over Rashford
Speaking after the game, Manchester United TV presenter Sam Homewood and pundit Danny Webber told the channel they did not appear unduly concerned.
Homewood told MUTV that in his view, Marcus Rashford did not look in any clear discomfort following the game.
He said: “He’s walking around with Jadon Sancho, he doesn’t seem to be walking uncomfortably, smiling.”
Danny Webber backed up this assertion, commenting: “He was due to come off anyway, sometimes you have to be sensible. He’s walking around, he’s back on his feet, it’s positive to see.
“We saw the replay, it’s painful, someone stamps on your foot. The boots don’t give you a lot of protection. It hurts you for a minute or two.
“If you know you’re going to come off anyway, look at the bigger picture, the start of the season.”
Rashford showed good signs
Marcus Rashford’s performance against Real Betis was his best of pre-season so far, and he also got on the scoresheet from the penalty spot.
While he limped off the pitch in discomfort, it is a positive sign that Rashford did not appear in pain at full-time.
Getting Rashford back to his best is a priority for Manchester United, with Erik ten Hag backing him to rediscover his goalscoring highs of the 2022/23 season.
Rashford scored eight goals last season after netting 30 the year prior. United want him fully fit to begin this coming season with a flourish.
