Manchester United fans’ telling reaction to Marcus Rashford’s performance against La Liga club Real Betis during the pre-season match on Thursday spoke volumes.
Marcus Rashford missed Euro 2024 in Germany this summer after former England manager Gareth Southgate snubbed him from his squad selection.
The 26-year-old Manchester United star disappointed with his performances last season, with Rashford struggling for form in the 2023-24 campaign.
Rashford only managed to score eight times in 43 appearances across all competitions, despite Erik ten Hag keeping faith with the England international.
The United forward was also met with criticism for his off-field actions, including his visit to a Manchester nightclub after the 3-0 derby defeat last October.

Rashford impresses against Real Betis
Marcus Rashford has played an active part in Manchester United’s pre-season tour this summer after failing to represent England at Euro 2024.
The Three Lions star played the first half in the 1-0 defeat to Norwegian side Rosenborg at the Lerkendal Stadion last month.
Rashford missed the 2-0 win over Rangers at the Murrayfield Stadium in Scotland before returning to the starting XI for the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal last Sunday.
The United star started again under Erik ten Hag in the latest pre-season friendly match against Real Betis at the Snapdragon Stadium on Thursday.
Rashford appeared to be back to his best and the Three Lions international was very lively during the first half with his performance.
Iker Losada stunned United in the 15th minute by firing Real Betis into the lead before Rashford scored an equaliser from the spot-kick three minutes later.
Amad Diallo fired United into the lead six minutes after the penalty before Rashford assisted Casemiro for the Red Devils’ third in the first half.
Rashford’s second half was cut short after he limped off the pitch, with Ten Hag subsequently withdrawing him and replacing him with Hannibal Mejbri.
Man Utd fans react to Rashford vs Real Betis
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, waxed lyrical about what they saw from Rashford before he was forced off the pitch.
Red Devils supporters insisted that the England star looked “very sharp” and believe that Rashford is “ready for the season” with United.
“I don’t know if this tweet is early but Rashford gradually getting his mojo back. Happy for him and [Jadon] Sancho,” one fan said.
Someone else commented: “Rashford looks very sharp. I love when he gets to be in pre-season from the beginning and gets to find his feet and his sharpness there instead of having to use the first few months of the season to find himself.”
“This is the Marcus Rashford we all know and love,” a third tweeted.
Another simply wrote: “Rashford looks very sharp.”
While a fifth posted: “This is the best I’ve seen Rashford in terms of decision-making… keeping things simple and flowing.”
“Rashford might surprise me this season; he’s been brilliant to watch,” a sixth X user added.
Somebody else said: “Rashford looks really sharp; hopefully, he can keep this energy throughout the season.”
And an eighth simply claimed: “Rashford is ready for the season.”
