Manchester United defender Harry Maguire trudged off in the first half against Bayern Munich with a groin injury.
Harry Maguire seemed to know the moment it happened. He kicked the ball out of play and signalled for treatment.
Maguire’s injury was one of two which has left the Red Devils reeling ahead of the weekend game at Anfield, with Luke Shaw substituted at half-time.
Erik ten Hag said of the pair: “I can’t say in this moment. We have to wait 24 hours for an assessment.”

Dion Dublin on Harry Maguire
Former Manchester United striker Dion Dublin was asked about Harry Maguire’s apparent groin injury on MUTV’s Matchday Review.
Dublin said there is a risk Maguire’s injury could keep him sidelined well into 2024.
He explained: “It can be months. It can be months depending on how bad the tear is and the pull is. He felt it straight away.
Dublin added: “For me, coming straight back on, trying it, is good,” before noting that the defender did not get far before asking to come back off again.
He said there is no easy fix for a groin injury other than to rest.
“With a groin, you cannot run, or do anything to make it better. It could be six weeks at least.”
Immediate games big concern
In early 2024 Manchester United hope to get Lisandro Martinez back to full fitness. He has recently been training at Carrington individually.
It is the upcoming stretch of games which is more concerning, with Manchester United now set to face Liverpool, West Ham and Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Missing both Maguire and Shaw for these games is a blow and leaves little room to suffer further injuries, with Tyrell Malacia also still out.
