Harry Maguire praised

England defender Harry Maguire was a rock at the back, and he was the player singled out on MUTV after the game by former academy player Ben Thornley.

Thornley told the channel: “I thought Harry Maguire was exceptional. He never put a foot wrong.”

He added, via The Debate: “I’ve got a huge amount of respect for Harry Maguire and the adversity he’s had to deal with over the last 12 months.

“You never see him on TikTok, Instagram or anything like that, all he’s done is get his head down and he’s worked extremely hard. He’s showed mental strength.

“He has been without question our best player for the past 10-12 games, he has been superb.”

Maguire had one of his easiest games of late, with Chelsea fairly uninspired going forward, especially in the second 45 minutes.
