Manchester United are all set and ready to go ahead of the crunch clash with Liverpool.

United host their bitter rivals at Old Trafford, looking to cut the gap between the sides to just one point.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side came from behind against Atalanta to win 3-2 on Wednesday night and the atmosphere by the end was electric.

Assistant boss Mike Phelan sent a short message to the fans ahead of the big kick off.

Phelan also issued a message to the supporters after they created that midweek wall of noise.

United fans and players alike should be pumped up for this game and Phelan made it clear he is too.

Phelan has seen it all before when it comes to United against Liverpool. He was of course Sir Alex Ferguson’s former assistant too.

That experience will stand United in good stead but they need to start better than they did in midweek.

The 4-2-4 system Solskjaer went for was too open, and Phelan is part of the coaching team responsible for getting that team selection spot on.

United also have some injury doubts, including Bruno Fernandes and Fred, so the team news could contain a surprise or two.
