Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford has been a big talking point during his involvement in the England national team.
Ruben Amorim made the bold call to freeze Marcus Rashford out of the Manchester United squad last season while questioning his attitude and work rate.
The result was Rashford leaving to join Aston Villa on loan before making a move to Barcelona in the summer.
Barcelona have a buy option for Rashford next summer, and the 27-year-old has made a bright start in Spain. It has earned him a recall to the England squad under Thomas Tuchel, and his comments this week have created a big talking point.
Rashford appeared to blame United for his inconsistency, which led to Roy Keane slamming Rashford and reminding him he was “part of the problem” at Old Trafford.

Micah Richards on Thomas Tuchel’s message to Marcus Rashford
Over the October break, Tuchel challenged Rashford to fulfil his potential by becoming consistent.
In the latest 5-0 win over Latvia, Rashford came off the bench in the second half. He also didn’t start in the 3-0 win over Wales earlier in the week.
Speaking on The Rest is Football, Micah Richards believes Rashford should be allowed to carry his Barcelona form into the national team without pressure.
“He had a little bit of a message for Rashford as well,” Richards said. “He said he could be whatever he wants to be. And I just feel like with Rashford, just let Rashford do what he’s been doing at Barcelona.
“He’s been outstanding for them. Everyone in the media this week has been talking about Rashford, but just let him do what he needs to do.”
Marcus Rashford faces World Cup dilemma
Rashford was left out of the England squad during his struggles at United, meaning he now faces an uphill battle to stay in Tuchel’s plans.
Tuchel praised Rashford’s training work rate in complete contrast to Amorim’s comments, but there is still a long way to go until the 2026 World Cup in the summer.

With competition from the likes of Bukayo Saka, Anthony Gordon, Jarrod Bowen and Eberechi Eze, Rashford could be left at home if he cannot remain consistent.
Three goals and five assists in his first 10 Barcelona matches is a brilliant start for Rashford, but he often struggled to be consistent at United and now that is his biggest challenge in Spain.
