Micah Richards and Alan Shearer both saw eye to eye on one standout Manchester United detail from the 2-0 Premier League win against Sunderland at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have climbed to 10th place in the Premier League table and secured all three points in their first match in October ahead of the international break.
Ruben Amorim watched on from the Old Trafford dugout as United produced a superb showing against Sunderland in their Premier League clash on Saturday.
The 40-year-old United manager faced immense pressure going into United’s encounter with Sunderland after the 3-1 away defeat to Brentford last month.
However, United rallied back from the Brentford result with a strong display against the Black Cats on the weekend, with the Red Devils scoring twice in the first half.

Alan Shearer reacts to what Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim did against Sunderland at Old Trafford
Mason Mount opened the scoring inside 10 minutes in the Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon before Benjamin Sesko netted in the first half for his side.
Manchester United took a 2-0 lead into the half-time break at Old Trafford and the Red Devils returned to the pitch and produced a steady display in the second half.
Ruben Amorim oversaw United secure a clean sheet against Sunderland and the pressure eased off his shoulders after the Red Devils’ 2-0 win on the day.
Alan Shearer has said that the Red Devils benefited from Amorim ‘tweaking’ his United system with the roles that Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo both played.
“Yeah, they deserved to win,” he said on The Rest Is Football podcast.
“I think they were the better team and they were under huge pressure. He’s tweaked it a little bit.”
Shearer continued: “He went two up top with Sesko and Mbeumo and they got the two goals. For 30 minutes, it was a much better team.
“And then Sunderland tweaked it and then they went to match them up and then Sunderland, I thought, came back into it a lot more and it was a bit more even in the second half.
“But I think in general, Man United deserved their three points. So, it was a big win for them for obvious reasons.”
Micah Richards reveals exactly where he stands on Ruben Amorim after what he saw from Man Utd’s win vs Sunderland
Sitting alongside Gary Lineker, Micah Richards welcomed the performance that United produced in the Premier League under Red Devils head coach Amorim.
Richards was deeply critical of Amorim’s tactics after United’s defeat to Brentford, but he felt that the Portuguese coach had received a lot of unfair “stick” online.
“You know what? I’m delighted for Amorim, though, because I did a big piece last week about the formation, the players, it’s not working,” he said.
“It didn’t work. I was honest about it, but some of the stick he gets online. He’s a manager. He’s a big boy. He can deal with it.”
Richards added: “Yeah, but I believe he’s a good coach. I just don’t believe he’s got the players to do what he wants to do. It’s as simple as that.
“So, to see them getting a win, even though I’m a Blue [Manchester City fan], it was good for him.”
United will now return to action after the October international break and the Red Devils will face defending Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield.
