Matic believes United can reach the top of the league and says he would rather win the title than the Champions League.
“Yes, the Premier League for me is always the most important trophy, in my opinion,” he said.
“Of course, the Champions League is always great to compete in and play against the best teams in Europe.
“But for me personally the Premier League is something I want to win with United.
“If that happens one day, I will be very, very happy.”

Matic is one of a few players in the United dressing room who have won the Premier League in their careers.
He might not play a huge part in United’s best 11 when everyone’s fit this season, but his experience could be vital if we’re in the title fight at the business end of the season.
Winning either of the biggest trophies on offer this season would represent huge success for United.
The league is the bread and butter, the true test of who the best team in the country is but United can beat anyone on their day and in Varane, they are bringing in someone who’s won it four times.
That knowhow could be vital in the hunt for trophies as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer approaches a season where he really needs to clinch silverware.
