Manchester United fans were chanting for Casemiro to stay following the victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
Casemiro was at his sparkling best as Manchester United beat Aston Villa 3-1 in the Premier League, with the Brazilian scoring his seventh goal of the season to break the deadlock at Old Trafford.
It was announced earlier this season that Casemiro will leave United when his contract expires in the summer, but United fans made it clear they want Casemiro to stay and reverse his decision.
It is not only the fans who want to see it happen – teammate Matheus Cunha also wants to continue playing alongside his Brazilian compatriot.

I would pay a MAXIMUM of £___ per-week to Casemiro to extend his contract
Fill in the blank with your offer. Casemiro earns around £350k/week right now. Will you go high or walk away?
Matheus Cunha asks Casemiro to stay at Man United
Speaking to TNT Sports journalist Fred Caldeira, Cunha expressed his desire for Casemiro to stay.
“I’m always asking him, ‘come on, stay at Manchester United! Just one year with me. Let’s go for the second little year.'” Cunha said.
“We’re very close, he’s always helping me, and it’s incredibly rewarding to play with him here and with the national team. I always learn from him and understand more and more how he won so many titles. He’s reached a stage where he can decide where to play, and I hope it’s with us.”
Cunha has expressed how much he will miss Casemiro, but clearly, he is not done trying to convince the 34-year-old to make a U-turn on his exit decision.
United did have an option to extend Casemiro’s contract by another year, but Ineos wanted him to lower his wages to stay at the club.

Casemiro kept his promise to Man United fans in 2022
After Casemiro was signed from Real Madrid for £60m in 2022, he spoke to the fans in his first club interview shortly after.
In that interview, Casemiro made a promise to fans that “you can count on me” as a United player.
I’m excited to be here, extremely happy. I appreciate the affection that people have shown me, from day one, the people in the airport, everyone…” Casemiro said.
“I’m delighted, and I’m sure that I’ll give everything, not just in games but in training as well and you can count on me as another Manchester United player and I want to win matches and titles like all of the players. Now it’s about working hard and showing everyone what I can do as a footballer.”
Four years later, most United fans will agree that Casemiro delivered exactly what he said he would. He has been a leader on and off the pitch, scored crucial goals to help win titles and also been a role model for others – including Cunha.
