It was the dream of Manchester United during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time to see Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford score goals and that dream is being fulfilled.
Just not at Manchester United, as Anthony Martial is tearing it up in Greece with AEK Athens while Marcus Rashford is starting a new chapter at Aston Villa.
Rashford had an encouraging Villa debut, just like Martial has found a new lease of life in Greece, and their recent interaction on social media is sure to give Man Utd fans a bittersweet feeling.
Both responded to each other’s encouraging performances for their respective clubs, neither club named Man Utd in a gut punch to the fans.

Marcus Rashford reacts to Anthony Martial’s message
Martial has rediscovered his goalscoring touch, powering AEK Athens’ title charge in Greece, the peak of which came recently.
The Frenchman bagged a brace in his team’s 5-0 win over Panserraikos to take him one goal away from double figures in all competitions.
After the game, Anthony Martial went on Instagram and posted a six-word message for his fans and teammates. He wrote, “Great win, 2 goals, Thanks God”.
Marcus Rashford responded with a heart emoji while Anthony Elanga, who’s enjoying a career renaissance of his own at Nottingham Forest, said, “T’ es chauddddd toto,” which is French for “You’re hottt”, with “toto” being Martial’s nickname.
Martial responds to Rashford’s post
Martial had a seemingly busy day on Instagram, posting his first message since January 5 and also responding to Rashford’s post.
Rashford had sent a message after his Aston Villa debut which has since become infamous for Jadon Sancho commenting “Freedom” in response, a presumably petty dig at Man Utd.
Days after that, Martial has reacted to Rashford’s post with a fire and a heart emoji, perhaps a response as muted and focused as the Frenchman himself.

Fans would be happy to see Martial and Rashford’s interaction remain strong, just that it’s not happening on the pitch and worse still, not happening at Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solsjkjaer’s attacking team will always have a soft spot in the fans’ hearts.
