Anthony Martial appears to be rediscovering his goalscoring form out in Greece.
The 28-year-old striker – who celebrates his 29th birthday on Thursday – left Manchester United this summer after his contract expired.
Anthony Martial arrived in England in 2015 as a relatively unknown prospect. However, he announced himself in grand fashion with a superb debut goal against Liverpool.
He ended up spending nine years at Old Trafford but never truly hit the heights the club hoped he would. After all, they did insert a Ballon d’Or clause in his contract.
Martial scored 90 goals in 317 appearances for United but his time at the club was largely riddled with injuries and he departed in the summer having not made a single appearance in 2024.

Anthony Martial is loving life at AEK Athens
Martial was one of six players released by United this summer as Ineos aimed to overhaul the squad.
After his United exit, Martial found it difficult to find a new club with Ligue 1 outfit Lille ruling out a move for him.
Eventually, Martial was offered a record-breaking contract by AEK Athens and he signed for the Greek side in mid-September.
He made a rocky start in Athens with Greek media criticising Martial’s debut for the club, but he has now settled down and is beginning to build up some impressive form.
Martial scored on his first start for AEK Athens and has now grown his goal tally to four, including a goal in each of his last three matches.
Martial’s scoring streak continued on Tuesday when AEK drew 1-1 with Aris Saloniki.
No regrets over Anthony Martial exit
It was unfortunate that Martial was never able to fulfil his lofty potential at United, but the club made the correct decision not to offer him a new contract.
He had barely been available during his final two years at the club, yet Martial reportedly earned £250,000/week at Old Trafford.
Ineos moved quickly to replace Martial with Joshua Zirkzee this summer, striking a £36m deal for the Bologna forward.
Zirkzee has started slowly at United but impressed with a brace in the 4-0 win over Everton last week. Alongside Rasmus Hojlund, United have two promising young strikers on the books.
