Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is finding his form again. But some may prefer it if he stayed off social media.
Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford is now the team’s joint-leading goal contributor this season with six goals and five assists, a combined tally matched only by Bruno Fernandes.
Rashford scored against Tottenham at the weekend, and was praised for his performance on MUTV.
The reaction on Sky Sports was not so forgiving, with his celebration attracting some criticism.

Marcus Rashford celebration v Tottenham
Rashford slid over to the touchline to celebrate his goal to put Manchester United 2-1 up, in the 2-2 draw, and made a gesture that people were talking too much.
Former captain Roy Keane hit out on Sky, commenting: “He’s got the quality. Why does he seem to be upset with everybody, he’s got to go and enjoy it he’s playing for Man United.”
Jamie Redknapp backed these comments, agreeing: “He’s got no right to be upset, he’s not done the business!’”
Rashford is clearly a little put out by this, and has had his say on social media.
Marcus Rashford responds
Marcus Rashford has clarified his comments in response to a supporter on X.
United supporter Eternally Red wrote: “He’s clearly referring to the abuse he’s been subjected to this week since he commented on Sancho’s post. They literally questioned his loyalty and commitment to us, and he did shut them up by scoring AND assisting. If he didn’t score, he’s ____if he does it’s this BS smh.”
Rashford wrote in response simply: “Thank you for clarifying this matter.”
What Rashford had said about Sancho
Rashford is close friends with Jadon Sancho, and will have been disappointed about how the winger’s career at Manchester United has transpired.
After the winger was unveiled by Borussia Dortmund this week, Rashford wrote on Sancho’s Instagram post, “Yesssirrr”, showing he was happy for his pal.
This prompted a divided response from United supporters – which clearly Rashford took notice of.
One way or another he responded in the best way possible, with a goal and assist, his first strike at Old Trafford this season.
He probably feels like he can’t win, but if he does keep on scoring goals, he might find the criticism quickly subsides.
