Marcus Rashford was absent again on Thursday night during Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Rangers.

This month has seen departures dominate the transfer discourse at Old Trafford, with Marcus Rashford among the biggest names to be linked elsewhere.

Manchester United have watched most of Europe arrive at the doors to ask about the 27-year-old, however, no deal seems imminent.

Rashford’s preference is to join Barcelona, but there is a problem with this on the end of the La Liga giants. Barcelona are unable to sign Rashford with no space in their squad right now.

With his exit proving tough to arrange thus far, Rashford was at Old Trafford on Thursday night to take in United’s 2-1 win over Rangers.

While sitting in the stands, he broke his silence over being left out once again.

Rashford hasn’t been fit in quite a while – if Amorim is to be believed – however Wednesday’s open training Rashford returned to United first-team training.

This led some fans to believe that Rashford would be in the squad for the Rangers game, considering a lack of options which saw Amorim leave two blank spots on his bench and also name two goalkeepers.

However, Rashford was not in the matchday squad – despite Alejandro Garnacho and Antony both being included amid their respective potential exits.

Rashford alternatively was left in the stands as he watched the game from a directors box, in his United tracksuit which suggests he travelled with the team.

This was shown on TNT Sports, while elsewhere in the crowd, United fans were flying banners in support of Rashford, as seen below.

Rashford broke his silence with a message to his teammates.

While sitting in the stands and watching his teammates – something which reinforces that Rashford may have to stay at United – he posted on Instagram with a message.

Posting on his story, Rashford took a snap of the game from his seat, while accompanying it with the caption: “Come on the boys”, with a red circle emoji.

Supporting his teammates is something every fan will love to see from Rashford, and it does suggest he could remain, after radio silence on social media recently.

It remains to be seen if this means anything or whether Rashford was simply supporting his team – but with little over a week remaining in the transfer window, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
