According to the MEN, Manchester United have checked in with Mauricio Pochettino over his availability.
United are said to be weighing up a move to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and appoint Pochettino.
The writing looks to be on the wall for Solskjaer, amid a dreadful run of form to start the season.
With United’s enquiry over Pochettino now in the public domain, you can also think, ‘why wait?’.

Making a swift move to dispense with Solskjaer’s services and appoint Pochettino would be a cold one, but it could be the correct one.
United do not appear to be taking decisive action. Instead they want to let the Solskjaer situation drag out.
That could mean Solskjaer keeps his job past the international break, or even into December and beyond. It depends on results.
So why enquire with Pochettino now? The reason could be simple.
Is this the real reason for Manchester United’s reported Pochettino enquiry?
United have known about Pochettino’s availability for months. It has been almost an entire year since he was fired by Tottenham.
The reason for United’s enquiry could be out of panic, that Pochettino could be moved on by Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG have lost two of three Champions League games and Thomas Tuchel is under pressure.
Football London reported in August how Pochettino had been linked with PSG, a club he used to play for.
A editorial from Get Football News France today led with, ‘”Why PSG must go for Mauricio Pochettino.”
United’s enquiry may not be because the club intends on sacking Solskjaer right now, but because they are panicked that the top alternative could be snapped up.

If United miss out on Pochettino to PSG, and then form worsens and United have to sack Solskjaer anyway, the club will be a laughing stock.
There are other alternatives out there of course, but Pochettino has Premier League experience and knows many of United’s players.
United seems to be caught in two minds right now, and the reported enquiry with Pochettino could be because of concern regarding PSG snapping him up first. Ultimately, this could push United into taking firmer action.
