Manchester United are gearing up for a trip to Bournemouth this weekend as Ruben Amorim comes towards the end of the Premier League campaign.

The Europa League may be the focus after Manchester United’s dramatic 5-4 win over Lyon, with Ruben Amorim chasing Champions League qualification.

Amorim must finish off the Premier League campaign as well, with results far from impressive right now.

United lost 1-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, meaning Amorim’s side have scored just once in the last four Premier League outings.

The Red Devils travel to the South Coast this weekend, taking on Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.

United target Antoine Semenyo will be looking to cause problems this weekend and Amorim will be desperate to avoid another Premier League defeat.

Zach Baumann in Manchester United training

United were beaten 3-0 by Bournemouth in December, their second win at Old Trafford in a row.

Amorim would surely take a repeat of last season’s trip to the Vitality Stadium, as United drew 2-2 with Bournemouth on the road.

United have been preparing for this weekend’s game and Amorim brought youngster Zach Baumann into first-team training on Wednesday.

Baumann was spotted with the first-team squad at Carrington, as seen on MUTV earlier on Wednesday.

Baumann trained with United’s first team last year as he joined Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro in training.

The 18-year-old has yet to make his first-team debut but has bagged one goal and three assists in 10 Under-18 Premier League league games this season.

Baumann hails from Bolton but has earned two caps for the Ukrainian Under-19’s on the international stage.

The Daily Mail noted last year that Baumann has earned comparisons to Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton.

United are now interested in signing Wharton, but Baumann will be keen to shine in training and prove that he can shine in the future – and save United millions in the process.

Dan Gore also trains with United

Baumann was not the only homegrown midfield talent in United’s first-team training session on Wednesday.

Dan Gore was also in action after a frustrating start to 2025.

United loaned Gore to Rotherham United in January, hoping to get him games after suffering injuries on loan at Port Vale last season.

Gore impressed Rotherham fans on his debut, but more injuries arrived to leave the midfielder on the sidelines.

That debut display against Birmingham City remains Gore’s only appearance for Rotherham, and he is now back training with United.

The Millers have just two League One games to play and Gore’s time in South Yorkshire appears to be coming to an end.

Gore will hope to catch Amorim’s eye ahead of a crucial pre-season, with the 20-year-old now enduring two injury-hit loan spells.
