Manchester United players have reacted to the news that talented youngster Teden Mengi has joined Birmingham City on loan.
The 19-year-old has become the first player to leave the Red Devils in the January transfer window.
Mengi has joined the Championship outfit and will be reunited with his former Manchester United academy teammate Tahith Chong who is also out on loan at St Andrews’.
The Dutchman had made an impressive start to the campaign before a freak injury halted his progress.
The winger is continuing his rehabilitation at Carrington and is hoping to link back up with the Blues before the end of the campaign.
Mengi has already told the Blues’ official website how happy he was to make the move into the second tier.
The England under-20 international made his Champions League debut for United last month after coming off the bench against Young Boys and playing left-back.
Aside from his Champions League appearance, Mengi has made 16 appearances for Neil Wood’s youngsters across Premier League 2, EFL Trophy and UEFA Youth League.
Mengi spent the second half of 2020/21 on loan in the second tier, when he joined Wayne Rooney’s Derby County.
He made nine Championship appearances for the Rams, seven of which were starts and he’ll be hoping to improve on that tally under Lee Bowyer.
Mengi could made his Birmingham debut on Saturday when Bowyer’s side host Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup third round.
