Manchester United youngster D’Mani Mellor is unlikely to join Crawley Town on loan following an issue with the paperwork.
The 21-year-old looked set to be plying his trade in League Two for the second time this season, following his loan spell at Salford City earlier in the campaign.
Sky Sports reported on Friday that Mellor was poised to complete a move to Crawley for the remainder of the season.
However, Crawley Town boss John Yems has been left ‘very, very, very disappointed’ after confirming the loan deal for Mellor is now unlikely to go through.

A ‘right balls-up’ with the paperwork, which is unlikely to be rectified by the 11pm deadline, has seen the deal on the verge of collapse.
Speaking at his side’s press conference ahead of facing Swindon Town, Yems said: “We had some disappointing news today concerning the Manchester United boy, there was a right balls-up with his paperwork from their end and I don’t think that will go through.”
With the 11pm transfer deadline looming, if the deal with Crawley cannot be rectified then it’s likely that Mellor will spend the rest of the season playing in Neil Wood’s under-23s side.
Mellor scored two goals against Brighton’s under-23s after being recalled from Salford earlier this month.

After not getting a proper look in at Salford which saw him play just 20 minutes of football across three League Two appearances, D’Mani Mellor would have hoped his second loan move away from Old Trafford would have been more beneficial.
But it’s looking increasingly unlikely that his second loan move is going to be granted in this window following the ‘balls-up’ with the paperwork.
