Sir Jim Ratcliffe making plans

Manchester United bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is making plans to restructure his offer for the club, according to Bloomberg.

His latest move is to appease the club’s minority shareholders, who would previously not have benefited from his plans to buy the Glazers’ stake.

It is a sign the process is still ongoing and Ratcliffe’s Ineos have not given up on trying to win the race.

Jonny Evans on Rio Ferdinand

Jonny Evans has praised Rio Ferdinand for being a huge influence during his first spell at Manchester United.

He told the United website: “Off the pitch, I’ll have to say Rio (Ferdinand), [he was] unbelievable for myself.

“You know, as a young lad coming in, he really sort of [helped], I kind of felt like he took me under his wing a bit. And I think he did that with all the young lads, all the academy players coming through.”

Liverpool pushed late for Amrabat

Manchester United signed Sofyan Amrabat late on transfer deadline day, after Liverpool had made a late push to sign him in the final week.

The Mail reported Liverpool felt they were close to a deal, before Amrabat’s camp stalled, clearly waiting on Manchester United. So the Merseyside club settled for Ryan Gravenberch instead.

Joao Felix talks

Manchester United held talks with Joao Felix in the summer, CADENA SER reported, via one of his representatives Paulo Futre.

Futre said: “He told me that he had spoken to Manchester United. I verified what he told me because I have friends and it was true.”

The former Chelsea loanee ended up signing with Barcelona in the summer.

Jadon Sancho latest

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan criticised Jadon Sancho, telling talkSPORT: “The player should never have spoken out. If he had a real issue, he should have gone to the manager and spoken to him.

“I would ask the manager ‘What do you want to do? (If he said he wanted him to leave) boom, gone, out in January. If the manager says you’re not training well enough, end of discussion.”

Some of Manchester United’s players have reached out to Sancho to urge him to apologise to manager Erik ten Hag, The Mirror report.

Benjamin Sesko no regrets

RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko says he has no regrets over missing out on a Manchester United move in 2022.

He told Transfermarkt: “I think it was better just to come here. It was really important for me to go to a place that was playing a similar style of football. I already knew what to do and didn’t have to go through an entire learning process again.”

Cucurella gutted to miss out

Contrastingly, Chelsea full-back Marc Cucurella was gutted to miss out on a loan move to Manchester United, The Sun report.

Marca had reported Cucurella was very close to a move, before Chelsea’s demands scuppered a deal and United turned to Sergio Reguilon instead.
