Three Manchester United youngsters have been named in FourFourTwo‘s annual list of the top 50 most exciting teenagers in world football.

United’s academy is known for it’s productivity giving chances to young players, and this continued during 2022.

Anthony Elanga became a first team regular, as did Alejandro Garnacho late in the year, while the under-18s won the FA Youth Cup for the first time in 11 years.

United manager Erik ten Hag is taking a keen interest in the academy, even directing the under-21s in terms of who plays, for how long, and who trains with the first team.

‘Most exciting teenagers in world football’

Three Manchester United teenagers are named in the top 50 list, with one inside the top 10.

Kobbie Mainoo is the youngest of the trio at just 17. He has already made the bench in Premier League matches, and was part of United’s FA Youth Cup winning side along with Garnacho.

Shola Shoretire has also been training with United’s first team, and made his debut in 2021, becoming one of the club’s youngest ever players.

Who else makes the list

England sensation Jude Bellingham is ranked #1 on the list. The Borussia Dortmund star is reported to be Manchester United’s top transfer target for this coming summer, reports The Times.

Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich is listed at #2, while Benjamin Sesko is #3, a striker United held talks over signing last summer, Sky Sports reported.
