Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood enjoyed a strong weekend in La Liga, socring his most impressive goal yet.

While Manchester United sensation Alejandro Garnacho was showing what he is capable of in the Premier League, a former talent continued his attempts to rebuild his career.

Mason Greenwood missed almost two season of football following his arrest in January 2022, and in the summer, Manchester United eventually made the decision he would not play for the club again, after much deliberation.

Greenwood remains under contract to United, sent out on loan, with Spanish side Getafe taking him on for the season.

Mason Greenwood making impact

Mason Greenwood has seven goal contributions in 11 games in all competitions for Getafe, three goals and four assists.

His manager Jose Bordalas this week said he was glad with how he is improving and is confident the best is yet to come.

Well, the best so far came at the weekend with Greenwood scoring a long range goal in a 2-1 win for Getafe, which the Spanish press hailed as a goal of the season contender.

Greenwood getting support

Mason Greenwood may have no future at Manchester United, but he does still appear to have the support of his colleagues past and present.

A message he posted on Instagram after the goal was ‘liked’ by Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot, among others.

A video he shared of his goal yesterday brought several responses from his former colleagues including Anthony Elanga and Teden Mengi, as well as current Manchester United forward Amad, who wrote ‘Love this, bro’.

Greenwood’s future remains unclear, other than that he is happy in Spain, away from the spotlight. It may be in his best interests to continue there, and Manchester United will likely receive bids for his services in the summer.
