The appreciation for Manchester United midfielder Fred amongst the club’s fan base appears to be growing, following another positive display.
For the trip to Norwich City, Ralf Rangnick reverted back to the starting line-up which had started the last two Premier League games.
That meant the German coach once again went with a midfield combination of Scott McTominay and Fred.
The Reds came away from Carrow Road with all three points, following a 1-0 win, thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty and some world class saves from David de Gea.
There is no denying there is a lot of work for the 63-year-old to do with this talented group of players and it will take time for his methods and principles to be instilled.
It wasn’t a comprehensive performance against the league’s basement side, but the momentum and winning feeling continues to build.

Rangnick will be hoping for a much-improved performance from his team when we travel to another of the league’s newly-promoted sides Brentford, on Tuesday.
However, one of the areas of the team that Rangnick was happy with against Dean Smith’s side was the performances of McTominay and Fred, which he felt was ‘again of a high level’.

Fred was given a rating of 8.1 by SofaScore, only de Gea (8.2) received higher. The Brazilian had the most touches (82) in the United side and also completed both of his attempted dribbles, which included a 94th minute dart towards the Norwich penalty area, where he won a crucial free kick, in the 94th minute, to take the sting out of the game.
The 28-year-old completed 59 of his attempted 65 passes (91%) and won 11 of 12 duels contested. United’s number 17 won seven tackles, the most on the pitch, which is the second highest across matchday 16 in the Premier League, with Brentford’s Christian Norgaard (8) the only player to register more, so far this weekend.
