Manchester United fans learned on Wednesday that Andrey Santos is set to join the club from Chelsea.

An agreement has been reached between Manchester United and Chelsea for Andrey Santos to move to Old Trafford in a deal worth £48m, plus £2m in performance-related bonuses.

United have acted quickly after walking away from deals for Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes to sign Santos, who played a bit-part role at Chelsea behind Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez last season.

Now that United are making progress on a deal for Santos, the fans have given their verdict.

What Man Utd fans are saying about Andrey Santos ahead of transfer

Fans on TalkingPoints have been discussing Santos’ imminent transfer to United, and the consensus is that United have made a shrewd signing.

A large proportion of fans are optimistic about the deal and believe Santos is a player who will rise in value over the coming years.

There are also United fans who are hesitant to get excited about Santos just yet, which is fair considering many haven’t seen enough of him to make a fair judgment.

If Santos can hit the ground running at United, it won’t be long before the Brazilian has everyone on side at Old Trafford.

Every United fan will be hoping Chelsea regret their decision to sell Santos to a rival.

While many fans are happy with the signing of Santos, there is no denying that Aurelien Tchouameni is the dream midfield capture for United this season.

Tchouameni featured in many of the reactions following reports that he has signed a new contract at Real Madrid.

It remains to be seen who else United plan to bring in to bolster the midfield ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
