Andrey Santos to join Man Utd
Andrey Santos is set to follow fellow Brazilian Ederson to Manchester United. A deal is in place with Atalanta for £35 million. He is also due to undergo a medical.
Santos signed for Chelsea in 2023 from Vasco da Gama, before loans at Nottingham Forest and Strasbourg.
He has been capped six times by Brazil although was not in their World Cup squad.
Only 22, Manchester United are convinced they are buying low on a midfielder with high potential, and hope Chelsea will regret letting him leave.
Santos is the same age as Kobbie Mainoo and the pair could develop together in the years ahead.
United are still expected to sign another third midfielder to compliment Ederson and Santos, who may be underwhelming in terms of name value alone.
This is a deal where Ineos deserve a little trust, Santos will be showing up well in their data analysis and they will be confident they are buying low on a player who could be worth £100 million in the future.
