The club have announced Mainoo has signed a new deal, describing it as ‘long-term’. The official announcement did not disclose the expiry date.
Mainoo, 17, has enjoyed a rapid rise through the youth ranks at Old Trafford and earned a spot as part of Erik ten Hag’s first team squad.

Mainoo deal a significant step
Kobbie Mainoo is one of English football’s best young midfield talents and led Manchester United to win the FA Youth Cup a year ago.
Still eligible for this year’s competition, Mainoo has been elevated up to the first team after impressing new manager Ten Hag in training.
Mainoo posed with manager Ten Hag (top) after agreeing the new contract extension, which demonstrates how personally invested the Dutchman is in his development.
Mainoo scored against Cadiz in a recent friendly in December, and has looked bright in his recent first team appearances.
The youngster could play a first team role between now and the end of the season amid a run of midfield injuries.
He was lauded by club captain Harry Maguire, who praised his strong performances in training sessions.
Mainoo only signed a professional contract last year, and to be rewarded with a new extended deal so soon, highlights how highly he is regarded.
United want to take no chances over his future and lock down his services for the long-term.
The club are also looking to tie Alejandro Garnacho down to an extension. The Argentine’s contract currently runs to 2025.
