Manchester United’s young players dazzled their way to a 4-2 victory over Scunthorpe in the FA Youth Cup this week.
Alejandro Garnacho was the star, scoring a spectacular volley at the Stretford End in his first game at Old Trafford.
At the heart of United’s win was midfield star Isak Hansen-Aaroen, who came close to adding a fifth goal in the second half after dribbling through the area only to have his shot blocked.

Hansen-Aaroen celebrated the win on Instagram, marking his first match at Old Trafford and toasting United reaching the next round. Several teammates responded to praise the Norwegian midfielder’s performance.
Match-winner Garnacho hailed him as ‘golden boy’ while scorer Sam Mather tagged Neymar in response.
Captain Marc Jurado also praised him, as did under-23s talents Charlie Savage and Martin Svidersky, who both played alongside him for the under-18s last season.

Top talent
Hansen-Aaroen is enjoying another strong season in United’s academy after missing the first month of the campaign through injury.
This was his second ever FA Youth Cup match. Last season he starred as United beat Salford, but was only a substitute in the next game and United crashed out.
This season he has played for the under-23s, the under-18s, and in the UEFA Youth League. In 10 total games he has four assists to his name.
At just 17, Hansen-Aaroen is building up an impressive catalogue of performances and he was an important link between midfield and attack in United’s Youth Cup victory on Monday.
The Norway under-19 international will have a big part to play if United go on to win the competition in 2022. Among all the academy players, he may be the most exciting one of all, and his teammates appear to know it.
