Diego Leon became a senior Paraguay international on Tuesday evening.
Manchester United youngster Diego Leon made history on Tuesday by becoming the first player in the club’s history to represent Paraguay on the senior international stage.
Leon came on as a substitute with nine minutes left on the clock as Paraguay suffered a 2-0 defeat in a friendly match against South Korea.
The United left-wing back received his first Paraguay call-up last week, but has already reached a milestone by winning his first cap.
United are pleased with Leon’s progress since joining the club from Cerro Porteño in the summer.

Diego Leon stats vs South Korea
Although defeat is never easy to take, Leon will be thrilled to have become a senior Paraguay international.
The 18-year-old will return to United with a spring in his step, perhaps with more fire in his belly to earn a first-team debut under Ruben Amorim.
Leon impressed during his short cameo against South Korea.
He managed a pass success rate of 100% following five passes, as well as one shot on goal.
The United starlet touched the ball seven times and made one defensive recovery.
Furthermore, he was dribbled past on one occasion.
