Manchester United-supporting darts star Luke Littler has made a hilarious admission from his special encounter with legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Luke Littler shot to stardom in the UK after his sensational run at the PDC World Darts Championship, with the 17-year-old darts player defying the odds.
But the Runcorn-born player’s dream run was ended after a 7-4 defeat to eventual champion Luke Humphries in a thrilling final at the Alexandra Palace in London.
Littler’s scintillating performances caught the eye of United players, who threw their support behind him during the PDC World Darts Championship.
The United fan also received a special message from one club legend ahead of his defeat to world No 1 Humphries in the PDC World Darts Championship final.
Littler, who is now No 31 in the world rankings, received a special visit to Old Trafford after his fairytale story at the PDC World Darts Championship.
Littler on meeting with Ferguson
Luke Littler, who named one dream player he would want to sign for the club, was in attendance for Manchester United’s 2-2 Premier League draw against Tottenham at Old Trafford.
The United supporter received a hero’s welcome at Old Trafford, including Littler meeting the likes of captain Bruno Fernandes and club legend Jaap Stam.
Littler was also presented with a United T-shirt with the number 180 on the back – a darts reference – along with his nickname, ‘The Nuke,’ featured on the top.
The PDC World Darts Championship runner-up met with Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford and was in awe at meeting with the iconic Scotsman.
However, Littler has since hilariously admitted that he didn’t catch everything he heard from his meeting with Ferguson due to the former manager’s Scottish accent.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, he said: “To be honest, it was good to get out of the house.
“I support United so it was nice to meet my idols at my home club, it was a good day out.
“I watched them train for a bit but it was raining and I went in when they started doing tactics and all that stuff.
“I also met Sir Alex at United vs Spurs a few weeks ago. That was good. My dad had seen their glory years, witnessed ‘99, and so it was good for him to meet him.
“It was good to chat. I didn’t get much out of him, because of his accent, but he did say keep going and stick to it.”

Littler has since seen success after his performance at the PDC World Darts Championship, with the teenager winning the Players Championship on his debut.
The British sensation hit an incredible nine-darter en route to his 8-7 victory over Ryan Searle in the final in Wigan on Monday.
Littler revealed that he will aim to spend anywhere between 20 to 30 minutes practising and doesn’t need to put in “silly hours” like he did during lockdown.
“When I get bored of that, I go on the practice board, and when I get bored of that, I go back on my Xbox,” he said.
“I practice for maybe 20 minutes or half an hour just to keep my arm loose. I think a big thing was when we first went into lockdown I was doing four or five hours a day because there was nothing else to do.
“Now maybe it is 20 minutes or half an hour. Because I have my talent, I don’t really need to do silly hours again.
“The hard work paid off and I don’t need to overdo myself anymore.”
