Aston Villa legend Gabby Agbonlahor was lost for words after his reaction to Manchester United’s win at Villa Park on Sunday went viral on social media.
Manchester United defeated Aston Villa before the end of 2023 at Old Trafford after the Red Devils mounted a sensational 3-2 comeback win in the Premier League.
The Red Devils travelled to Villa Park for their second league encounter with Unai Emery’s men and United sealed all three points again in a 2-1 win.
Rasmus Hojlund, who has scored in five consecutive matches across all competitions, opened the scoring for United against Aston Villa on Sunday.
Douglas Luiz pulled one back for Villa in the second half, but Scott McTominay came off the bench and scored the winner in the 86th minute with a superb header.
United’s victory against Villa was the Red Devils’ third consecutive Premier League win, Erik ten Hag’s men now undefeated in six matches across all competitions.
Ten Hag’s men remain in the battle for top four and are sixth in the league table, with United five points behind fifth-place Aston Villa and six behind fourth-place Tottenham.
Agbonlahor’s reaction to Man Utd win
Gabby Agbonlahor has become a figure loathed among Manchester United fans for his views on the club, including his bizarre take on club legend Nemanja Vidic.
The 37-year-old talkSPORT pundit has not been afraid to pull no punches towards United, with Agbonlahor a fierce critic of former Ajax star Antony.
Agbonlahor’s talkSPORT colleague Jamie O’Hara took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and shared a video of the Aston Villa legend.
O’Hara can be heard mocking Agbonlahor as the former Villa star rubs his finger over his eye after McTominay scored past Emi Martinez to put United 2-1.
“Hassssssss anyone seeeeen Gabby in Malaysia [sic],” O’Hara wrote, adding several laughing face emojis in his tweet.
United fans on X enjoyed every minute of Agbonlahor’s reaction and their chance to watch the former England international be humbled by Erik ten Hag’s men.
Ten Hag on Man Utd’s victory
Speaking after the clash at Villa Park, Ten Hag insisted that his side are “really happy” with the result and was thrilled with a “massive” win over Villa.
“It was massive. It’s a massive win for us,” he told Sky Sports (via Manchester United’s official website).
“So, we get closer. And that was the aim for today and was absolutely our target. And we did it.
“And I think also the way we did it, I think I liked it, and of course, I liked especially the first 20 minutes.
“And when we are dictating the game, after I think we are dropping a little bit too much.
“We had our moments in the counterattacks, but yeah, I think then at 1-1, to fight back, we are really happy for today.”
