Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has undergone surgery on an injury sustained in pre-season.
Leny Yoro’s misfortune is one of those nightmare situations that can leave you angry and frustrated the more you think about it.
Yoro was making just his second appearance in pre-season, the first on the USA tour, when he sustained a metatarsal injury.
The 18-year-old has now undergone surgery on his injury, Manchester United have subsequently confirmed.

Leny Yoro latest
Erik ten Hag has already explained that Leny Yoro has shown a positive attitude since his injury, along with Rasmus Hojlund who suffered an injury in the same game, albeit less severe.
Yoro’s positive stance was on display in his first message since the surgery, posted on his Instagram story feed.
He left a simple message, writing, “Thanks God”, appreciating that the operation on his fractured metatarsal was a successful one.

Leny Yoro back in three months
Leny Yoro faces three months out, and this is an obvious blow to a Manchester United defence which has just lost Raphael Varane as a free agent, and also sold Willy Kambwala.
Another addition is needed, with Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt a top target.
Yoro can at least settle into life in Manchester and acclimatise to his new surroundings off the pitch, while coming on strong in the second half of the campaign.
We saw Kobbie Mainoo make an big impact upon his return to the team in November last year after a pre-season injury, and eventually he probably benefitted from his time on the sidelines, late in the season.
Part of the challenge with young players is not to overplay them, and United will have to manage Yoro carefully. If that wasn’t the case beforehand, it certainly is now.
