Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney has received an interesting tribute after one player had a strangely designed tattoo featuring him.
Wayne Rooney is regarded as one of the best Premier League strikers of all time after his legendary playing career at Old Trafford.
Sir Alex Ferguson brought the 38-year-old former Manchester United striker to the Premier League club in 2004 after Rooney made a name for himself at Everton.
Rooney made a whopping 559 appearances for the Red Devils and he scored 253 times, with the United legend becoming the club’s all-time record scorer.
During his spell at Old Trafford, the England legend lifted five Premier League titles, a Champions League, a Europa League, an FA Cup and three League Cups.
Rooney left United in 2017 for a brief spell back at boyhood club Everton before he went on to play for the likes of DC United and Derby County.

Wayne Rooney, who retired from football in 2021, is currently in charge of Championship side Plymouth Argyle amid his career in management.
The Manchester United legend suffered a setback in 2024 after he was sacked from Birmingham City back in January before his appointment at Plymouth Argyle in May.
Aberdeen and Finland winger Topi Keskinen is a huge admirer of Rooney and decided to have the former United captain inked as part of a strange tattoo.
The 21-year-old Finland international decided to have Rooney fishing as part of his design, with Keskinen now explaining the main reasons behind the tattoo design.
“My mum’s an Everton fan and Rooney played there and when he made a move to Manchester United, I started watching United games,” he said, as per Goal.
“He was like an idol to me on the field. I was watching his highlights in every game that he played in his career, so he’s my favourite player in my life.
“So, I tattooed him fishing, because I like fishing also. It’s my two favourite things combined in one tattoo.”
Rooney bounced back into management
Rooney had a tough start to life as Plymouth Argyle boss after the Championship side suffered a crushing 4-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in August.
However, the ex-England striker has since turned the tide back in his favour, with Rooney nominated for the Championship Manager of the Month award in October.
Plymouth are currently 14th in the Championship and secured a late 2-1 comeback win over Blackburn Rovers before the start of the international break.
Rooney had firmly committed to his future in management back in February after his ill-fated spell with Birmingham City ended with his dismissal.
“It was a setback what happened at Birmingham but I’m a fighter and I want to get back into it,” he said.
“You know as a manager [being sacked] is part of the job and you will have setbacks.
“It’s about how you bounce back. I’ve had some good time to reflect and will make sure I get it right next time.”
