Manchester United fans wasted no time reacting to Jadon Sancho after Chelsea finally made their transfer decision on the ex-England and Borussia Dortmund star.
Jadon Sancho spent the entirety of the 2024-25 Premier League season on loan after Chelsea agreed to sign him from Manchester United last summer.
Chelsea landed Sancho from United in 2024 with a contractual obligation to sign the Red Devils winger for a transfer fee between £20m and £25m this summer.
The Blues’ obligation to sign the ex-Borussia Dortmund ace was automatically triggered in April after it was ensured Chelsea would finish above 15th place.
However, United’s deal with Chelsea for Sancho included a £5m penalty clause, which allowed the Blues to send the Red Devils attacker back to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were dealt a major blow on Tuesday after it emerged that the Blues would exercise their clause and would not sign Sancho on a permanent deal.

What Man Utd fans are saying about Jadon Sancho’s collapsed transfer to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea paid the £5m penalty
According to BBC Sport, Chelsea and Jadon Sancho’s camp ‘have not been able to agree’ on a contract over a permanent move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Sancho is reportedly earning a hefty £300,000-a-week wages at Manchester United and the Red Devils star would have needed to take a pay cut to complete the move.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, slammed the “embarrassing” news surrounding Sancho’s failed transfer to Chelsea.
“And Sancho returns, we can’t be happy for even [two] mins without drama,” one Red Devils supporter wrote.
Another United fan said: “United won’t have an issue shifting Sancho for £20m.”
“That Sancho news is embarrassing as hell,” a third X user tweeted.
Someone else commented: “£15m for Sancho? Nahhh [sic], bro, that’s way too low, he’ll still command £30m.”
While a fifth added: “Imagine a football club paying £5m NOT to sign you, that must be an all-time low for any footballer.”
“I’d like to know how much Chelsea offered Sancho,” a sixth posted.
Somebody else asked: “Can’t Saudi come and buy Sancho?”
And an eighth claimed: “If Sancho refuses to leave Man Utd, I say we ruin his whole career and don’t play him a single [match] this season. Keep him on [the] bench and never bring him on.”
Man Utd player Jadon Sancho is now set to return to Old Trafford after his Chelsea loan spell
Sancho’s contract with Chelsea is set to expire on 30th June and the former Three Lions star will return to Old Trafford after the end of his loan spell.
BBC Sport reports that Sancho is now ‘unlikely to play’ for the Premier League side as part of their FIFA Club World Cup campaign, which will take place in the United States.
Sancho made 42 appearances for the Blues during his loan spell in the 2024-25 campaign and he netted five times and registered 10 assists for Chelsea.
The former England international lifted the UEFA Conference League trophy with the Blues, with United winger Sancho scoring for Chelsea in the 4-1 final win in May.
