Manchester United fans have made their feelings perfectly clear on two players after Manchester City secured a 3-1 comeback win in the Manchester derby on Sunday.
Erik ten Hag’s men travelled to the Etihad and Manchester United were considered the massive underdogs for the Premier League showdown against Manchester City.
However, United stunned the Etihad in the first half after Marcus Rashford’s thunderbolt strike fired the Red Devils into the lead in the opening 10 minutes.
The Red Devils held on to their lead going into half-time, but Pep Guardiola’s men rallied back in the second half thanks to a superb brace from City star Phil Foden.
Erling Haaland, who missed a clear-cut chance in the first half, ensured City’s victory in the Manchester derby after he scored past United star Andre Onana in injury time.
Despite the 3-1 defeat to City, United fans believe that two Red Devils players could “hold their heads up” after their respective performances at the Etihad.

Two Man Utd players did well vs Man City
Manchester City picked up their third consecutive Premier League win and the defending champions firmly remain in the title race alongside Liverpool and Arsenal.
Manchester United, on the other hand, suffered their second consecutive Premier League defeat after losing 2-1 to Fulham at Old Trafford last month.
Erik ten Hag’s men are now 11 points adrift from fourth-place Aston Villa with 11 league matches remaining, with a top-four finish highly unlikely for United.
Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans started in the Manchester derby and fans felt that the defensive duo impressed alongside United No 1 Andre Onana against City.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, praised Raphael Varane for playing “out of his skin” and his “immaculate defending” against City.
Jonny Evans, meanwhile, had his performance against City being well-received by United fans, who claimed he deserved to ‘hold his head up high’ alongside Varane.
Man Utd fans react to Evans and Varane
“Varane’s defending is incredible, letting him leave on a free transfer would be a mistake,” one fan claimed.
Another posted: “I don’t want to hear anybody question Varane’s quality again.”
“Varane [and] Evans can hold their heads up today. Not many others,” a third added.
Someone else commented: “Varane, BTW, immaculate defending!”
A fifth tweeted: “Varane has played out of his skin today.”
While one X user wrote: “Can’t fault the effort today at least. Evans, Varane, Onana [were] immense [in the] first half.”
And a seventh said: “Well done to Varane and honestly Evans today.”
Somebody else simply stated: “Would’ve been a slaughter without Varane.”
