Unlike at United, Amorim is getting a full pre-season to start with, so there is no residual toxicity of the previous season which derailed his spell as Man Utd manager.
At the same time, it removes an excuse his entire spell at Carrington hung on, so he will need to hit the ground running at Milan.
The game against Celtic didn’t start very well, as Milan were down by two goals in the first 30 minutes due to individual errors.
Francesco Camarda scored twice in the second half to salvage a draw, but United fans who saw their players commit these same individual errors weren’t getting fooled by the “players are bad” narrative.
They are convinced that the same pattern of the system making the players look worse than they are is happening at Milan.

“The space between the left wing-back and the left central defender can accommodate a train. Where are the midfielders?” asked one, putting these “individual errors” down to a poor system.
“It is okay, Milan fans. We understand what you are going through,” said another, as a third agreed, “You will understand pain very soon.”
A fifth said tongue-in-cheek, “It’s okay, you just need to suffer for a while,” while another said, “Still the same 3-4-3 formation. Nothing’s changed, I see.”
A final fan summed up the majority fan sentiment perfectly, writing, “This guy honestly had me in tears, so I know what it feels like. Good days are coming?”
Amorim infamously wanted to change the whole squad at United after getting frustrated, but Milan players making the same mistakes makes it clear that the system is the problem, not two different squads at two different clubs.
