Manchester United fans’ reactions to Patrick Dorgu spoke volumes after the Denmark defender’s second half of the 2025-26 Premier League season under Michael Carrick.
Patrick Dorgu was brought through the doors of Old Trafford during Ruben Amorim’s reign after Manchester United signed the Danish full-back from Serie A side Lecce.
The 21-year-old Denmark international had mainly been used as a wing-back under former United manager Ruben Amorim during the early part of his Red Devils spell.
However, Dorgu caught the eye of United fans during the latest Premier League campaign after his role as a winger under former interim boss Michael Carrick.

Man Utd fans respond to Patrick Dorgu’s 2025-26 Premier League season after Michael Carrick’s arrival at Old Trafford
Posting on United In Focus’ TalkingPoints platform, Manchester United fans were deeply impressed with Patrick Dorgu’s efficiency as a winger under Michael Carrick.
One Man Utd fan wrote: “It’s a shame Dorgu picked up the hamstring injury when he did because he was hitting top form in the lead up to it. Also, his record under Carrick is impressive, with 3 goals in as many starts. I think Dorgu is best further forward as a left winger, but he could provide cover at left-back next season if required. Still raw, but potential is clear.”
Someone else posted: “Dorgu needs to be playing as an attacking winger next season. He is wasted in a defensive role.”
“Scary to think he’s so effective in his first 10 games as a winger for us – would be incredible if he kept it up over a season,” a third Red Devils supporter wrote.
Another TalkingPoints user commented: “One of his best games came on the right against Newcastle in December – he gives us so much versatility.”
Somebody else said: “From Amorim’s sacking onwards, an 8/10. So much to work with here. Can’t wait to see what he can do under Cara [sic] for a full year.”

From Man Utd wing-back and full-back to Red Devils winger, Patrick Dorgu has shown promising signs under Michael Carrick
Dorgu made an immediate impact in his first two starts as a winger under Carrick after the United legend was initially appointed interim head coach in January.
The former Lecce star netted in Man Utd’s 2-0 win over Manchester City at Old Trafford before he found the back of the net again in the 3-2 victory over Arsenal.
However, a hamstring injury ended Dorgu’s run of form and the Danish wing-back missed the 11 following Premier League matches before returning to action.
Dorgu was able to have a real impact on the final day of the Premier League season after he scored and assisted in Man Utd’s 3-0 win against Brighton at the Amex.
The United star made 28 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils in the 2025-26 campaign and netted four times and picked up four assists as well.
