Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has a first-team Manchester United player who is keen to spend the rest of his professional playing career at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag is currently in the United States with the Manchester United squad for the remainder of the club’s pre-season tour this summer.

United kicked off their pre-season campaign earlier this month with a 1-0 defeat to Norweigan side Rosenborg at the Lerkendal Stadion in Norway.

Ten Hag’s men bounced back from the 1-0 loss to Rosenborg with a 2-0 win over Rangers in Scotland, with United subsequently heading to the States.

United faced Arsenal last Sunday for the first match of the US leg of their pre-season tour and the Red Devils suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Gunners.

Ten Hag’s side will return to action on Thursday when they face La Liga club Real Betis at the Snapdragon Stadium in California.

Man Utd star sends message about future

Amad Diallo has been part of the pre-season tour and has secured regular playing time for Manchester United this summer.

The 22-year-old missed the defeat to Rosenborg before playing a starring role against Rangers, with Amad Diallo finding the back of the net.

Diallo, who started against former side Rangers, returned to the starting XI for the Arsenal match and played the first half at the SoFi Stadium in California.

The United winger has now opened up about his future and sent a clear-cut message to Erik ten Hag that he wants to stay at Old Trafford.

When asked about his United future, he told reporters (via Goal): “I’m very happy here.

“I think everyone is happy with me because I smile with everyone, good energy. Why not stay here all my life?

“It was not easy for me to get an injury in pre-season last season. I was out [for] a long time but the most important thing was to come back stronger, to help the team and in the end, I was happy with my contribution.

“I forgot the past and now I’m thinking about the present.”

Diallo ‘motivated’ for Man Utd

Amad Diallo is out of contract with United next summer and the Ivorian will be keen to build on his momentum for the 2024-25 Premier League season.

The Ivory Coast international missed the opening of the 2023-24 campaign for United after he was ruled out of action due to an injury.

However, Diallo bounced back from his injury setback and fought for his place in the United first team, with fans keen to see a lot more of him next season.

The United star made an impact for the Red Devils in his breakout season, including scoring a sensational winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

“I am so motivated to start the season, I’m so excited, I believe in the manager,” Diallo continued.

“Last season, I know didn’t play a lot but this season is going to be a good season for everyone and I’m so motivated to start the season.”
