Manchester United took on FCSB in the Europa League tonight – and they emerged victorious.
United sat fourth ahead of kick-off and needed a win, or a draw and some luck, to advance to the round of 16 immediately.
Their luck was in. Thanks to some fantastic United performances against FCSB, the Red Devils ran out 2-0 winners on Thursday night.
Ruben Amorim will be delighted, particularly with the addition of some added cash they’ll receive which could alleviate some of Manchester United’s financial woes.

But with Manchester United winning in Bucharest and propelling up to third in the table – how much exactly have they earned?

How much Manchester United just earned from Europa League prize money
Since Manchester United have just qualified against FCSB – a cash prize has been awarded to the Red Devils.
Finishing in the top eight automatically secured them £1.47 million for progressing to the round of 16.
Additionally, their victory in Romania contributed an extra £379,201, with a further £502,281 as a bonus for their top-eight finish.
Altogether, from Thursday’s game alone, United pocketed approximately £2,351,482 – £1.47 million for reaching the round of 16, £379,201 for the win, and £502,281 for their impressive Europa League finish.
This is in addition to everything United accumulated throughout the tournament so far in wins and draws for going unbeaten, plus the initial share of the pot.
This will come as a boost to United head coach Amorim, who could budget for that extra £2.3 million in the remaining days of the transfer window.
