Manchester United will undergo plenty of changes this summer ahead of a return to the Champions League. This will include several players departing Old Trafford permanently.
With Manchester United’s return to the Champions League almost secured, this summer will see Ineos working hard to build a team capable of competing at Europe’s top table.
This will be in the form of signings, but also outgoings, with United looking to sell Manuel Ugarte, along with Joshua Zirkzee’s future also being up in the air.
However, it won’t just be sales with United set to release a handful of players when their contracts expire at the end of June.
WHICH player do Manchester United NEED to sell this summer?
Manuel Ugarte? Joshua Zirkzee? Mason Mount?

Tyler Fredricson among potential releases for Manchester United
This summer, there could be a mass exodus at Old Trafford, with several players set to see their contracts run out.
It comes according to The Sun, United’s list of potential releases this summer actually includes Tyler Fredricson.
Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia, and Casemiro are also all set to have their contracts expire, but Fredricson is yet to be decided, although there is a strong chance.
Fredricson debuted last season under Ruben Amorim, playing a handful of times, including August’s Carabao Cup disaster against Grimsby.
Amorim was full of praise for Fredricson at the time, as he stepped up in an injury crisis and more than held his own.
Fredricson’s contract will expire at the end of June, and right now, there doesn’t appear to be any talks around renewing.
Ultimately, Fredricson’s chances were finished by Ayden Heaven’s breakout as a much better talent at a younger age.

Fredricson shouldn’t be released before he gets loan opportunity
Releasing Fredricson would be quite a brutal decision by United, with the centre-back yet to really get a chance after an unfortunate injury-ridden campaign.
Celtic tried to loan Fredricson in January, and had that happened, he might have been getting a new contract, only for injury to deny him.
Every time there was an opening at centre-back, Fredricson suffered a set-back and this makes it feel like a mistake to cut ties this summer.
He won’t break the bank, and so United should look to hand Fredricson a new contract, short-term, and give him the opportunity on loan next season.
Then he can either be cashed in on or leave the club for free, but after getting a proper chance.
