A breakthrough in stance could be in the offing for Marcus Rashford as Man Utd communicate release clause to clubs.
The roads for Marcus Rashford this summer were narrowing quickly after Barcelona sent him back without triggering his buy option.
Since then, Bayern signed a winger, Man Utd showed no inclination for a return, and Rashford’s wages ruled out 90% of interested teams.
Now, United have communicated a release clause to non-Barcelona interested parties, and a breakthrough has also been found in Rashford’s stance.

What’s YOUR message to Marcus Rashford after Barcelona’s deal for Anthony Gordon?
Should Man Utd use this reality check to try and bring Rashford back?
Man Utd put £40m price tag on Marcus Rashford
United seem intent on calling Barcelona’s bluff this summer, slapping a £40m price tag on a player who the Spanish club didn’t buy for £26m.
As per The Athletic, that price tag is still generating interest from other clubs, and it’s available for everyone except Man City and Liverpool.
That will come as a boost to United because they can show Barcelona that they genuinely missed out on a bargain.
Rashford still has two years left on his deal, and a breakthrough in stance has arrived from the player’s camp as well.
The same report states that in case a non-English team doesn’t match United’s asking price, Rashford would be happy to see out his contract at Old Trafford.
That is the biggest boost for United, because they can now enter negotiations from a position of strength instead of desperation.
Barcelona took advantage of this desperation last summer, but United can avoid a repeat by simply keeping him.
That would, however, complicate matters for a new £50m target on the block.
Crysencio Summerville links depend on Rashford’s future
The same report adds that United have entered the race to sign West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville, who’s starring at the World Cup for the Netherlands right now.
Man Utd may be in for a long transfer saga over Mateus Fernandes: What is the most INFURIATING/PAINFUL one you can recall?
Like Mateus Fernandes, West Ham’s relegation makes the winger attainable, and a price tag of £50m has been mooted.
As things stand, United are prioritising their midfield, and how much further they take Summerville interest depends upon Rashford’s future.
If he stays at Old Trafford, then it wouldn’t be wise to spend £50m on a left winger, especially with Patrick Dorgu’s new position locked in.
If he doesn’t, then they can reinvest the money from Rashford’s sale into buying Summerville, who would be an astute addition at £50m.
