Man United fans all saying same thing over two players Erik ten Hag ‘must start’ against Crystal Palace

Manchester United fans are urging Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag to start Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat for the Crystal Palace clash at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Red Devils booked their place in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup with a clinical 3-0 victory over an uninspiring Palace side at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.

A deadline-day loan signing from Fiorentina, Amrabat made his debut in a brief cameo against Burnley at Turf Moor before making his first start against Palace.

Deployed at left-back instead of midfield, the Fiorentina loanee excelled for United against Palace and earned rave reviews from fans thanks to his superb performance.

Mount, meanwhile, made his triumphant return to United’s XI after recovering from his injury and the former Chelsea star was praised for his fantastic performance.

The 24-year-old United star, who was criticised for his early performances this season, registered his first assist at the club after picking out Casemiro from a corner.

United fans want more Mount and Amrabat

“Mount and Amrabat should and must start for us,” one fan simply said.

Someone else commented: “We want to make him [Ten Hag] [to] play [the] same formation on Saturday.”

“I want Casemiro rested, so we can start Amrabat, Mount, Bruno [Fernandes] and Hannibal [Mejbri],” another wrote.

While a fourth fan tweeted: “Amrabat is set to be a key player, providing the defensive and physical edge we’ve missed in recent clashes with the top [eight] sides.”

“Amrabat, Varane and Mount must start vs Palace on Saturday,” a fifth posted.

And another X, AKA Twitter, user added: “Sofyan Amrabat will bring new energy, creativity and balance to the [midfield] that has been dead since post-Scholsy and [Michael] Carrick days. I expect him to start regularly alongside Casemiro.”

More to come from Mount and Amrabat

Ten Hag revealed after the Palace match that withdrawing Mount at half-time and replacing him with United defender Victor Lindelof was a pre-planned decision.

The United boss has seen his squad depth depleted due to injuries and losing Mount to another spell on the sidelines would be a costly blow for Ten Hag.

However, Mount’s return to the starting XI and his performance against Palace will hopefully uplift his confidence in a big way after a tough start to life at United.

Amrabat’s debut for United was delayed after the Morocco international withdrew from international duty due to a minor injury that he picked up.

But the Fiorentina player, much like Mount, put in a stellar performance in the third-round cup tie and is already drawing comparisons with Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick for his passing range.

But United fans are eager to see Amrabat’s full potential in midfield, specifically alongside Casemiro in a bid to unlock the ex-Real Madrid star’s full potential.
